Can someone tell me what this sensor is?

Here's a pic of a B20B block with a sensor mounted on the Front of the block......What does it do?

That looks like a knock sensor...but not quite sure.

I cannot tell you exactly what type of sensor it actually is... but I CAN tell you where it is located: normally, there is a very large plug installed in that location that allows an engine builder like myself the ability to completely drain the coolant out of the water jacket surrounding the cylinders.

So, my guess would be a coolant temp sensor... although a KNOCK sensor would certainly work in this location.

Yeah, I've never seen that on a Honda before either that's why I was confused on what the hell it as used for [img]eek.gif[/img]

It could possibly be a block heater. I know you boys in warm climates may not use these.... But they're pretty common here in canada. You would have a adapter that plugs into an electrical outlet to warm up your car before you start it.

Just a thought.

YUP!!!!! its the block heater!!!
its missing the cord that plugs into that adapter the the electrical outlet.
sometimes you need that, when you live in climates like ours!!( -30,-35 degrees celcius below)

Its extra weight that needs to come off in Fl. I've never seen that on a honda before.
